Description:
arthistoricum.net is a modular portal for art history research and teaching. It is a joint portal of the University Library Heidelberg and the Saxon State Library, State and University Library Dresden (SLUB), which is operated in cooperation with the Institute for Art History at the LMU Munich (Chair of Prof. Dr. Hubertus Kohle) and other partners.

arthistoricum.net enables comprehensive research on the entire spectrum of art history topics: starting with the medieval and modern art history of the countries of Europe and the art influenced by Europe in the USA, Canada and Australia, chronologically from the early Christian era to 1945 - united in the Heidelberg collection focus on art history. This is then continued with the entire history of art from 1945 in the countries of Europe and North America as part of the Dresden collection focus on contemporary art.

The core of the search is the most comprehensive possible evidence of art history publications, regardless of whether they are printed, hybrid or genuinely published online. With the publishing and reviews components, arthistoricum.net supports internet-based academic work and publishing in the spirit of open access. In the topics section, arthistoricum.net offers digital copies of subject-specific text collections as well as access and information on research-relevant image sources. Together with the topic portals, forums on individual aspects of art and art history that go beyond the literature references are presented here. A blog on numerous art history topics rounds off the offering.
